Explanations / FAQ
Resilience
Resilience is originally a term from physics and means the ability to return to
one's old form after stress and deformation.
Resilience is used in a similar way in psychology and here means being able to cope
with life again after strokes of fate. It is important to realise that the blows of
fate can also be used to help life to become more positive afterwards.
Hedgehog as a symbol and power animal
The hedgehog is a symbolic animal for resilience. It is relaxed as it goes about its
simple life, but in the event of danger it curls up and protects itself from attack with
its prickly surface. After some time of this passive defence, it carefully senses whether
the danger is over, and if so, it uncurls itself again and moves away. It is curious,
intelligent, knows how to provide itself with resources and knows how to defend itself.
In its spherical shape, it also symbolises the earth and earth energies for some people.
When I was looking for my logo during my coaching sessions, I was inspired by a curled-up
hedgehog that I hold and protect in my hands, waiting for its inquisitive nose before
releasing it into the wild.
This is how I would like to work with my clients, including you:
You get the protected space from me, can find your self-confidence and can then be
'released into freedom'. This means that the aim is for you to be able to lead a free
and self-determined life again as quickly as possible, possibly with just a few sessions
instead of years of therapy.
Nevertheless, I will of course continue to be there for you and support you as needed.
Kintsugi
Kintsugi is an ancient Japanese art of repairing precious tea porcelain that does not cover up the broken areas, but actually emphasises them with gold. This gives each cup a very individual, unique and particularly valuable appearance. This is why Kintsugi is now often used as a metaphor for resilience.
