Therapy Approaches

Igel Kraftier Mental Balance Coaching Hypnosis

Hypnosis is commonly thought of as show hypnosis, in which candidates on stage perform seemingly mindless actions that are not related to the commands and amuse the audience. This use of hypnosis is only for the stage and differs significantly from the form of hypnosis used therapeutically.

It is becoming increasingly recognised that hypnosis can be used therapeutically, e.g. for overcoming anxiety, quitting smoking or other personal issues. There are two main approaches here:

  1. hypnosis with suggestions either in the presence of the hypnotist or with digital audio offerings. The chances of success are around 50%. Sometimes the treatment seems successful at first, but after a short time there is a relapse to the state before the hypnosis treatment. The most likely reason for this is that one's own subconscious rejects the intended change(s) as inappropriate and can thus assert itself against the conscious mind.
  2. Client-centred hypnosis is an approach (and mine) in which the client (i.e. you!) retains control and design. The task of the hypnotist is merely to provide guidance and certain guidelines on this inner journey.

Hypnosis corresponds to a deeply relaxed state similar to meditation, but with the difference that it allows you to work on the stresses you have brought with you and find solutions.

The state of hypnosis opens up the possibility of entering into contact and dialogue with your own subconscious. Your own subconscious knows the best solution. Listening to your own subconscious and co-operating with it to find a solution is the most effective and therefore most promising method of transforming your suffering into a new quality of life.

I do not see hypnosis as a central therapy method in itself, but as a simplification, a lubricant so to speak, for the success of the therapy methods used. Depending on the problem, these can originate, for example, from systemic therapy, NLP or other approaches.

Igel Kraftier Mental Balance Coaching from transactional analysis

The basic ideas of transactional analysis (TA) and the TA attitude are

  • a fundamental respect and the assumption that every person is okay with all their parts (see also Systemic Therapy) and therefore in their entirety.
  • Every person has the ability to think, to solve problems and to take responsibility for their life and its organisation. By understanding unsatisfactory situations, developing personal potential and questioning previous views, the main goal is to promote one's own potential and thus autonomy in the sense of self-determination in relation to oneself, one's own needs and the world.

This appreciative attitude is the basis for working together, which makes the desired success possible

The basic assumptions are very similar to those of transactional analysis. The focus is also on an accepting, appreciative and empathic attitude on the part of the client and therapist. It is also assumed that every person has an innate desire for self-realisation. This means that everyone has everything within themselves and knows best, consciously or at least unconsciously, how their own suffering came about and what the best solution strategy for healing is.

Igel Kraftier Mental Balance Coaching from systemic therapy

The nature of every human being is not only determined by heredity. A baby is basically born into a system and its characteristics, how they develop, are determined in many ways by its socialisation, i.e. all the experiences and conclusions drawn from them.
In systemic therapy, the characteristics that also lead to (re)actions when dealing with oneself and the environment (and not (re)acting also means an action) are visualised as a family, team with the various parts. These parts can support or hinder each other.
Getting to know the systemic parts of yourself and how they interact can provide valuable insights on the way to solving your own problems.

Igel Kraftier Mental Balance Coaching from NLP

NLP stands for neuro-linguistic programming. It is a very promising form of therapy.
It is based on the fact that one's own perception of a situation can only ever be subjective, i.e. from one's own perspective and with one's own background of experience. We also know that the brain processes memories as if they are happening. It is above all the feelings that determine the (remembered) experience at the time and now.
If a remembered situation can be emotionally re-evaluated, the beliefs derived from it can dissolve, which can lead to a solution to the problem.
